Peter Belshaw, who was born in Zambia, graduated from Manchester University in 1977 with a BSc Honours Degree in Liberal Studies in Science before taking his Law Society Final Examinations and qualifying as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1982.
Andrea Belshaw, originally from Wales, also graduated from Manchester University with an LLB Honours Degree in Law in 1980, going on to qualify as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1983
Peter and Andrea met way back in 1980 at the law firm in Manchester City Centre where they both trained, marrying in 1984.
Both worked separately for various Greater Manchester firms until Peter decided to set up his own practice in Manchester in 1995, specialising in Family Law, Criminal Defence and Civil Litigation.
In 1998, they joined forces and combined their talents and experience when Andrea became a partner, bringing to the practice her particular specialisms in Claimant Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence.
Since merging their respective skills and creating Belshaws Solicitors, Peter, Andrea and their legal support team have dedicated themselves to providing their clients with first rate legal advice and the personal one-to-one service that they believe only a specialist law firm can provide.
As a result they have earned not only the appreciation of the many clients that they have served, but also the respect of their professional colleagues and the judiciary.
